No tools are required to assemble the habitat and each individual component has a mass of less than 25kg meaning that installation is an extremely low risk process. All ancillary equipment is intrinsically safe or ‘Ex' rated for use in zones 1 or 2 making the habitat safe for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The optional inline gas detection equipment allows for automatic shutdown of inlet air should any hazardous gases be detected.

The habitat is positively pressurised with clean air via a pneumatic or electric ‘Ex' rated fan and any fumes generated by the hotwork processes are removed using a venturi system that ensures a clean and safe working environment. The fumes are taken to a safe location via ducting.
